Phase 3: Brand Application & Collateral Design
Bayn Coffee is located in the historic site of Qasr Al Muwaiji, Al Ain. Its location was the main inspiration behind the brand concept, menu, experience, and name. Bayn, ‘in between’ in Arabic, was chosen to describe the time between the past and the future, the present, and the current generation. Bayn is more than a cafe; it’s a space to commemorate the majlis experience, a place to convene. The visual identity is primarily Arabic, with a dynamic play on the logotype, showcasing the past, present, and future with the extension of the first and last letters that comprise the word. The logotype pays homage to the ancient wells located in Al Ain, the color palette is inspired by colors found within the Emirati crafts of Telli embroidery, and the brand application on the packaging and uniform design is drawn by inspiration from the Emirati heritage, crafts, and traditions.
